Angus Energy PLC (AIM:ANGS) shares shot up 10% to 0.44p in opening trades after the onshore energy transition company provided an update on its Brockham oil field in Surrey.
Angus said a new pump was installed in the well and repairs and upgrades made to the surface equipment as the group begins to restart production.
Chief executive Richard Herbert stated: "As we stated in our last strategic update, Angus intends to expand production through organic and inorganic growth. This is the first step of that journey.
“We are very pleased with our progress at the Brockham Field to resume production. The workover was completed safely and on schedule and budget, with the new pump starting up on the 28th May.”
The stock has since fallen back to 0.38p.
