Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) saw US auto sales increase 11.2% in May over the same month last year boosted by strong demand for all-electric and hybrid vehicles.
The automaker on Tuesday said it saw an almost 65% increase in sales for both EVs and hybrid vehicles, which totalled about 26,600 vehicles.
It nearly doubled sales of its all-electric F-150 Lightning pickups when compared to May 2023 and sales of its Mustang Mach-E EV were up almost 46%.
Internal combustion vehicle sales were up 5.6% year-over-year at about 163,000.
Total vehicle sales for the month increased from about 171,000 to just over 190,000.
In the year-to-date, Ford’s US sales are up 5.6%, with sales of about $878,000 compared to about $831,000 for the same period in 2023.
