Deltex Medical shares lift as NHS approves product

Deltex Medical Group plc (AIM:DEMG) shares surged as much as 11% on Tuesday morning after the NHS approved its monitoring technology for hospitals in the UK.

TrueVue System, which monitors a patient’s blood vitals, has received clearance from the NHS Supply Chain meaning it can be purchased by NHS hospitals as a pre-approved device.

Andy Mears, chief executive at Deltex, said: “Being selected to participate in the framework agreement with the NHSSC makes it easier for NHS hospitals to access the benefits of TrueVue including better surgical outcomes, significantly fewer post-operative complications and reduced hospital length of stay."

While the agreement isn’t a purchase order, it will allow TrueVue a route to market, with the product now being categorised as "lot 2: Specialist Patient Monitoring Equipment”.

Framework approval for the TrueVue system will start on June 8 and will be applicable for the next two years, with an option to extend it for an additional 24 months.

Shares in Deltex remain down 90% in the last twelve months at around 0.12p per share.
