Ford UK facing industrial action from managers over pay

Ford UK is facing industrial action later this month when plant managers in the Unite union across the country start working to rule and instigate an overtime ban.

Sites at Dunton, Stratford, Dagenham, Daventry, and Halewood will be affected from June 14, with the threat of strikes if the issue remains unresolved.

An offer from the US car company was rejected as it included performance-related payments and was not guaranteed for all.

Sharon Graham, Unite General Secretary, said: "Despite making billions in profits, Ford is attacking our members' pay.

“Performance-related payments offer no guaranteed pay rise and risk wage cuts. Our members are right to take action, and Unite fully supports them."

Ford responded to the situation, stating: “We regret that it has resulted in this outcome considering the fair and balanced offer made and the competitiveness of our LL6 pay and benefits package.”
