Hipgnosis shareholders to get an extra penny from Blackstone

The board of Hipgnosis Songs Fund Limited (LSE:SONG) have wrangled a slightly higher cash takeover price from buyer Blackstone - one US cent to be precise.

A new take-private price of $1.31 per share has been agreed or 105p at the agreed exchange rate, up from the $1.30 (104p) deal struck on 29 April.

It represents a 49% premium to the closing price of 71p per share before a first offer was agreed with rival music rights group Concord on 18 April.

The increase of $0.01 per share is partly because Hipgnosis incurred lower adviser fees than previously expected.

Hipgnosis is valued at roughly $1.58 billion (£1.27 billion) at the new price.
