Lobe Sciences Ltd (CSE:LOBE, OTCQB:LOBEF) has announced the appointment of Dr Frederick Sancilio to its board of directors.
The company, which is focused on developing transformative medicines targeting rare diseases, highlighted that Dr Sancilio brings more than four decades of experience in pharmaceutical sciences and biopharmaceutical research to the position.
It noted his track record of success, having founded multiple successful pharmaceutical companies and contributing to the biopharmaceutical industry's development in North Carolina.
As the founder of aaiPharma, he led the company to become the world's largest dosage form development company with over 1,000 US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and 500 European drug approvals.
Philip Young, Lobe CEO, said the company was delighted to welcome Dr Sancilio to its board of directors.
“I have enjoyed collaborating with Fred and his team for the last three years building the program to develop L-130, our stable oral psilocin,” Young said.
“Working with Fred we plan to build upon the recently completed clinical and non-clinical studies with L-130 and expand the commercial reach of Altemia, our Medical Food for treating Sickle Cell Disease.”
Dr Sancilio expressed his excitement about joining Lobe Sciences “to contribute to its innovative approach to mental health treatment.”
