Cooper Metals Ltd (ASX:CPM) managing director Ian Warland joins Proactive to discuss the latest assays from regional reverse circulation (RC) drilling across four copper-gold prospects at its Mt Isa East copper-gold project in Queensland. The results cover all 12 holes drilled in April at the Mafic Sweats South, Mafic Sweats North, Raven and Yarraman prospects. At the latter prospect, about 79 metres of low-grade copper-gold mineralisation point to a fertile faulted contact zone which warrants further exploration. Meanwhile, over at Mafic Sweats South, shallow copper-gold mineralisation has extended to a strike length of around 285 metres and a depth of 200 metres. Drilling intersected disseminated copper sulphides beneath an extensive copper oxide zone. What’s more, the company reported all three drill holes at Mafic Sweats South ended in anomalous copper, suggesting a large shallow copper-gold system open along strike and down dip, centred around a regional faulted contact between the Argylla and Magna Lynn Formations. Work also continues at Cooper’s Gooroo copper-gold project, just a stone’s throw from Silver Lakes Deflector mine in WA. Warland says fieldwork continues across the precious and base metal property and encourages investors to continue watching this space.
