AJN Resources Inc (CSE:AJN) announced that it has commenced a reverse circulation (RC) drill program at its Manono Northeast project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, located near the Manono lithium-cesium-tantalum project.
The company said it has contracted Hub Drilling Limited, a South African-based drilling firm, to follow up on drilling data received from the ongoing percussion drilling program at the project.
Percussion drilling identified three targets of alluvial sediment adjacent contact zones, which the company interprets to overlie the continuation of the Manono lithium-cesium-tantalum pegmatites onto PR 15282, one of the two exploration permits that make up the Manono Northeast project.
“The RC drilling will allow us to better understand the geological structures and potential mineralization at deeper levels within our licence area,” AJN CEO Klaus Eckhof said in a statement.
“Our initial percussion drilling has provided valuable insights, and we look forward to expanding on this knowledge with more detailed drilling, sampling and analysis."
AJN added that the reverse circulation drilling program will be revised once it better understands the distribution of lithium-bearing pegmatites within the license area.
The percussion drilling also further confirmed that the PR 14537 property, which borders PR 15282, is underlain by granite and has no economic potential. The company has withdrawn its interest and will no longer explore this license.
