JD Sports ticks higher ahead of Friday results update

JD Sports Fashion PLC (LSE:JD.)'s slightly delayed annual results are due tomorrow, with the retailer indicating they will be in line with the guidance of 28 March.

That pointed to a profits range of £915-935 million, which broker Shore Capital said was encouraging given the disappointment of the New Year trading warning.

The broker said: “More important to the future trajectory of the group’s share price will be the outlook, not long to wait now but the metrics look attractive if stability is evident in the EPS line. Buy.”

Revenue expectations are for broadly flat fourth quarter like-for-like (LFL) sales, made up of high single digits in Asia-Pacific, around 2% higher in the US but 3% down in the UK & Ireland.

All of which should add up to a total for the year of £10.5 billion.

An update on the integration of the recent acquisitions should also be worth noting, added the broker

Shares rose 4.5% today to 132.3p.
