Ocean Power Technologies Inc (NYSE-A:OPTT) has announced the completion of engineering for its Merrows solution to be deployed in hot climates.
The company noted that Merrows, an artificial intelligence-powered Maritime Domain Awareness Solution, has integrated lessons from current and previous deployments, including in Bahrain.
It comes in response to increased industry interest in regions such as the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, and North Africa.
"In addition to our recent expansion into Latin America, we are excited to start offering services in Sub-Saharan and North Africa, and the Middle East,” chief executive Philipp Stratmann said.
“Offering an integrated AI solution enables our potential customers to easily integrate PowerBuoys and WAM-Vs into their operations."
Previously, OPT had completed hot climate deployments of the WAM-Vs and now offers its integrated Merrows solution globally.
