The board of John Wood Group PLC said it is "evaluating" a new takeover bid from Sidara, its Dubai-based rival, at 230p per share.
Dar Al-Handasah Consultants Shair and Partners, known as Sidara, has made what it is calling a "fourth and final" proposed offer, which the London-listed outfit says is unsolicited, preliminary and conditional.
The Wood directors and their advisers are mulling this and say they will respond in due course, having rejected the third possible offer pitched at 220p per share last Friday as it "significantly undervalues the group and its prospects".
The second approach was proposed at 212p earlier in May and Sidara initially offered 205p a share at the end of April.
