T Stamp Inc (NASDAQ:IDAI, EURONEXT:AIID) (dba Trust Stamp) has unveiled its latest stride in the realm of age estimation technology.
The company announced that it is in the process of filing a patent for an AI-driven methodology designed to enhance the performance of biometric-based age estimation algorithms.
The unveiling of this patent comes hot on the heels of Trust Stamp's initial foray into the age estimation arena, with the introduction of its AI-based age estimation service in March 2024.
According to Dr. Norman Poh, Chief Science Officer at Trust Stamp, the newly proposed algorithm represents a significant leap forward in age estimation technology. Dr. Poh remarked: "This new patent application will signify Trust Stamp’s most recent breakthrough in age estimation.”
Poh explained that the algorithm utilizes the Bayesian framework to tackle the inherent uncertainty in predicting a person's age and to minimize the impact of overestimation and underestimation that would occur if raw age values were used.
Additionally, the solution enables the generation of age category probabilities that can be customized to meet various client requirements and target specific demographics, significantly enhancing the reliability and precision of age estimation.
Andrew Gowasack, president of Trust Stamp, echoed Poh's sentiments, expressing confidence in the newfound capabilities of the company's age estimation technology.
“With this new innovation, we fully expect our age estimation performance to outpace legacy products,” Gowasack said.
“Calibration and categorization of the AI outputs will be an attractive process improvement for clients who are seeking a more accurate and customized solution for online age estimation.”
