NanoViricides (NYSE-A:NNVC) announced that it has engaged Chicago-based life sciences consultancy firm Aagami for business development, specifically to seek out licensing and partnering opportunities for its assets and platform technology.
The company said it is pursuing licensing and partnership opportunities for its lead asset NV-387 and its NanoViricides platform technology.
It has engaged Aagami to support these efforts in India and Japan, noting Aagami’s strength in licensing and partnering in these regions.
"Engaging Aagami gives a significant boost to our licensing and partnering efforts, while at the same time substantially freeing up our executives and staff to focus more strongly on further development of our multiple drugs and the NanoViricides (NYSE-A:NNVC) platform through clinical trials," NanoViricides president Anil Diwan said.
NV-387 is being developed for the treatment of RSV, COVID-19, Long COVID, Influenza, Bird Flu H5N1, and other respiratory viral infections.
The drug has successfully completed a Phase 1a/1b human clinical trial in healthy subjects with no reported adverse events.
NanoViricidies is focused on advancing NV-387 into a Phase 2 human trial for RSV.
The company believes NV-387 is a “revolutionary ultra-broad-spectrum antiviral drug with a strong potential to transform treatment of viral infections just as the broad-spectrum antibiotic, penicillin, transformed the treatment of bacterial diseases.”
