Galliford Try Holdings highlights ‘controlled growth’ as it kicks of Capital Markets Day

Galliford Try Holdings PLC (LSE:GFRD) has, in a statement for today’s Capital Markets Day, described a period of “controlled growth and good performance” since 2021.

The construction firm’s update outlined its progress and its strategy for sustainable growth, which now comes with financial targets set for 2030.

“[In 2021] we set out our sustainable growth strategy and financial targets to 2026,” chief executive Bill Hocking said in a statement.

“We have consistently delivered increased revenue and divisional operating margin and have progressed towards our original 2026 strategic targets ahead of plan.

“The strong momentum in the business and our confidence in the outlook is a reflection of our disciplined strategy, committed people and established relationships with our supply chain and clients."

Galliford’s financial targets include increasing divisional operating margin to 4.0% and growing revenue to over £2.2 billion.

The builder is focusing on growth in core markets like infrastructure, as well as higher-margin adjacent markets like the private rented sector, affordable homes, and ‘green’ retrofits.

It also intends to expand its specialist capabilities in fire protection, active security, and facilities management.

Galliford also confirmed a management change, with the departure of Andrew Duxbury as group finance director, at the end of May, and said that Bill Hocking will assume interim responsibility for the finance role until new chief financial officer, Kris Hampson, joins the company in September.

The company said its next trading update is scheduled for 11 July.
