GSK, Wise, Pennon: What brokers said today

NanoViricides (NYSE-A:NNVC) has been awarded a ‘Buy’ rating and $6.50 price target by analysts at EF Hutton following the release of positive data on the anti-influenza A/H3N2 activity of its therapy NV-387.

In a lethal animal model of lung infection, NV-387 treatment showed a longer survival lifespan of 15 days compared to eight to 11 days for three approved anti-influenza drugs, the analysts highlighted.

Analysts at UBS have lowered their price target on shipping and logistics company FedEx Corp (NYSE:FDX, ETR:FDX) ahead of its fiscal fourth quarter earnings report, pointing to multiple headwinds that will dampen the impact of its cost-cutting program in fiscal 2025.

The analysts reduced their price target to $333 to $340 on lower earnings per share (EPS) estimates but awarded the stock a ‘Buy’ rating.

GSK PLC (LSE:GSK, NYSE:GSK) may face a settlement of up to $2 billion to resolve thousands of lawsuits related to Zantac, a heartburn medication linked to cancer, according to an estimate from the investment banking arm of Barclays.

Zantac was pulled from the market in 2019 after the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found it contained N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), a probable carcinogen. This discovery led to numerous lawsuits from patients who alleged that they developed cancer after using the drug.
