Lloyds AGM crashed by pro-Palestinian and climate protestors

Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LSE:LLOY) faced disruption at its annual shareholder meeting in Glasgow due to protests against its financial dealings with defence firms allegedly linked to Middle Eastern conflicts.

During the meeting, chairman Robin Budenberg requested the removal of at least two protesters.

"You are profiting from companies who cause harm. Focus on humanity, put the human, put the planet before profit," one activist was heard stating as they were escorted out.

Another protestor accused Lloyds of “funding genocide in Gaza” and “funding climate catastrophe”.

In a statement published by PA Media, campaign group Tipping Point said protestors had disrupted the meeting to demand the bank divest from fossil fuel companies and firms “complicit in Israeli genocide and occupation”.
