ATHA Energy Corp (CSE:SASK, OTCQB:SASKF) is looking at a “significant step forward” with its 2024 exploration program in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin, CEO Troy Boisjoli said in an exploration update to shareholders.
The company making progress in its 2024 exploration program, leveraging advanced geophysical surveys and a diversified portfolio to maximize discovery potential in uranium exploration.
The 2024 exploration program at its 100%-owned Gemini project in the Athabasca Basin has reached significant milestones, according to ATHA’s latest update.
ATHA has completed Phase I geophysics, focused on the GMZ and surrounding area, aiming to identify alterations indicating uranium mineralization.
Phase II, currently underway, involves data compilation, target development, and optimization, with the objective of developing a detailed 3D geological model coupled with ATHA's proprietary machine learning.
ATHA initiated its Athabasca Basin 2024 exploration program in January. Its program comprises two phases: Phase I, a continuation of the maiden 2023 exploration program, and Phase II, building on results from Phase I and the 2023 program.
Phase I aimed to identify high-priority targets across ATHA's Athabasca Basin projects, utilizing aerial electromagnetic (EM) and magnetic (MAG) surveys. Phase II involves additional testing of identified targets using various geophysical systems such as QMAGt, MMT, Gravity, and ANT surveys.
“The benefits of our exploration-at-scale approach are on full display with our current and planned exploration activity, as the combination of our dominant exploration portfolio and exceptional technical capacity have allowed us to deploy our most significant program to date and maximize discovery potential for the company,” CEO Boisjoli said in a statement.
Cliff Revering, VP Exploration, highlighted the strategic focus on advancing known deposits, discoveries, and Tier 1 generative projects, affirming ATHA's commitment to executing its exploration strategy effectively.
“With the successful acquisition of Latitude Uranium and 92 Energy in the first quarter of 2024, ATHA continues to execute on its strategy to invest at scale in its portfolio of diversified exploration assets,” he said.
With acquisitions of Latitude Uranium and 92 Energy, ATHA now boasts a portfolio covering 8.1 million acres, ranging from advanced exploration to highly prospective greenfield projects.
