C3 Metals Inc (TSX-V:CCCM, OTC:CARCF) said that a new intercept at the Connors porphyry prospect helps to confirm the potential for high-grade copper-gold mineralization in Jamaica.
The company reported an intersection of 79 meters at 0.71% copper and 0.49 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (1.06% CuEq) from 128 meters, including 46.0 meters at 0.95% copper and 0.69 g/t gold (1.45% CuEq) at its Connors porphyry prospect within the Bellas Gate project.
This latest discovery, along with recent findings from Provost and Camel Hill, reaffirm the potential for high-grade copper-gold mineralization within the porphyry systems at Bellas Gate.
In a statement, C3 noted that numerous targets are yet to be explored, and systematic exploration efforts aimed at delineating economic tonnages of mineralization are ongoing.
“The interpreted offset of the Connors porphyry to the southeast hosts the same prospective contact that produced strong copper-gold grades at Connors,” C3 Metals CEO Dan Symons told investors.
A new prospect, Connors SE, situated southeast of Connors, has been identified as a high-ranking, near-surface porphyry target.
“At the Connors SE prospect, we see outcropping intrusive rocks consistent with those at Connors that are supported by a similar copper soil geochemistry anomaly,” Symons added.
C3 Metals has concluded drilling at the Camel Hill and Geo Hill porphyry prospects, with assays pending. Meanwhile, trenching and channel sampling have commenced at the Arthurs Seat and Super Block projects. The company anticipates providing additional assay results as they become available.
C3 Metals also made sure to welcome Barrick Gold to Jamaica, following Barrick's agreement with Geophysx Jamaica Ltd to earn up to 80% in certain mineral concessions surrounding C3 Metals' holdings.
The Super Block project, a 50-50 joint venture between C3 Metals and Geophysx, features the past producing Pennants Gold mine. Regionally, C3 Metals has identified 16 porphyry, 40 epithermal, and multiple volcanic-hosted redbed style copper-gold prospects over a 30-kilometer strike extent.
“We agree with Barrick's assessment that Jamaica hosts a favourable geological setting comparable to the Dominican Republic where Barrick operates the world-class Pueblo Viejo gold mine,” Symons said.
“C3 Metals, as a first mover into Jamaica, has secured over 20,000 hectares of highly prospective ground in what we believe is a new and emerging copper-gold district."
