Anthropic, an AI startup supported by Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN), announced the European launch of its AI assistant, Claude, available via web and iPhone app starting on Tuesday.
Claude Pro, a subscription service providing access to advanced models like Claude 3 Opus, and business-oriented plans called Claude Team, priced at 28 euros ($30) monthly before VAT, will also be introduced.
CEO Dario Amodei emphasised Claude's commitment to accuracy, security, and privacy. The launch aligns with the EU's recent adoption of the AI Act, the first major regulation setting standards based on AI risk levels.
Claude boasts fluency in multiple European languages and is already free in the UK.
Amid rapid growth, Anthropic is valued at $18.4 billion. Amazon recently pumped in $2.75 billion of new investment.
