Will BT break its good news dry spell?

BT Group PLC (LSE:BT.A)’s upcoming full-year results come amid a dearth of good news for the British telecommunications giant.

That is how analysts at Deutsche Bank described the operating conditions at BT, with newly appointed chief executive Allison Kirkby yet able to instil confidence in the FTSE 100-listed telco.

Progress on BT’s large-scale workforce reduction programme will be a point of focus for stakeholders.

There are plenty more issues to be covered though, from BT’s pension funding deficit, the full-fibre rollout which was recently slammed by rivals, a floundering business unit and last but not least, rising debt levels.

It’s a stacked book of issues for Kirkby to tackle; full-year results due on 16 May with cast a light on the progress she has made since taking over as boss in January.
