First Phosphate Corp. (CSE:PHOS) announced it has entered into a partially binding letter of intent with Rapid Building Systems Pty Ltd to establish a Rapidwall Manufacturing Plant in the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean Region of Quebec.
Rapidwall, a prefabricated load-bearing walling panel, and Rapidseal, a fire-resistant spray plaster, are manufactured using a moulding process with water-resistant gypsum plaster.
First Phosphate views the products as sustainable alternatives to traditional building materials that have wide-ranging applications in residential, commercial, and industrial construction.
The initiative utilizes clean phosphogypsum from First Phosphate's proposed purified phosphoric acid (PPA) plant to create innovative building materials.
The phosphogypsum by-product generated from this process will be transformed into clean recyclable gypsum for the production of Rapidwall and Rapidseal materials.
The potential impact of this initiative is significant. A 150,000 tonne PPA plant could yield approximately 700,000 tonnes of clean recyclable gypsum annually, capable of building thousands of homes or apartment units. However, the realization of this vision hinges on the successful operation of First Phosphate's mine and PPA plant.
Under the terms of the LOI, once the supply terms for the Rapidwall Manufacturing Plant are finalized, First Phosphate will be granted exclusive sales and marketing rights for Canada to RBS's Rapidwall and Rapidseal products.
