Northern Superior Resources Inc. (TSX-V:SUP, OTCQX:NSUPF) and ONGold Resources have announced the appointment of esteemed Indigenous leader John Kim Bell as chairman of the board of directors of ONGold.
Bell, recognized as one of Canada's most decorated Indigenous leaders and a prominent cultural figure, brings a wealth of experience spanning arts, philanthropy, and the corporate world to his new role.
His extensive career includes leadership positions at prominent energy and mining companies, where he advocated for Indigenous rights and sustainable resource development.
In a statement, Kyle Stanfield, newly appointed CEO of ONGold, expressed his delight at Bell's appointment, highlighting his esteemed reputation and the signal it sends to the resource sector. "I have had the privilege to collaborate with John Kim over the past number of years and I am extremely pleased that he has agreed to join our board of directors in this leadership role,” Stanfield said.
New CEO Stanfield brings over 25 years of experience in mineral exploration and project development, with a strong focus on indigenous consultation and sustainable project planning.
Bell, in turn, noted the opportunity to promote a more inclusive and sustainable approach to mineral exploration in Ontario, leveraging his multifaceted expertise and advocacy for Indigenous rights.
The appointments come as ONGold gears up to commence trading on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol ONAU. With a strategic focus on Ontario's prolific gold-producing regions, ONGold is poised to unlock the potential of its exploration assets, including the district-scale TPK Project and October Gold Project.
