Kodiak Copper Corp. (TSX-V:KDK) has its eye on new drill targets developed with the help of artificial intelligence at the MPD copper-gold porphyry project in British Columbia.
To date, Kodiak has identified 24 drill-confirmed zones and prospective target areas on the MPD Project, with only eight zones having undergone drilling by the company.
Using VRIFY AI, an AI targeting system, nine additional areas of interest have been identified, presenting opportunities either adjacent to known copper-porphyry zones or as novel priority regions warranting further exploration.
The strategic plan encompasses six target areas for new or expanded drill testing in 2024, distributed across MPD North and South Project areas.
A comprehensive drill program spanning 10,000 meters aims to unlock high-grade mineralization within established zones and unearth potential discoveries in uncharted territories.
The 2024 program includes 25-line kilometres of new 3D induced polarization (3D IP) surveying and a 2,000-sample soil geochemical survey. These initiatives are tailored to advance VRIFY AI's identified areas of interest to drill-readiness, thereby enhancing the efficiency and precision of Kodiak's exploration endeavors.
Reflecting on the company's achievements and aspirations, Chris Taylor, Kodiak's chairman, told shareholders that this year, “more of Kodiak's work will be dedicated to follow-up drilling of near-surface mineralization.”
