Phunware Inc (NASDAQ:PHUN) said it has hired a hospitality industry veteran as a strategic advisor to guide the wayfinding company's expansion into the hospitality sector.
Paul Ruffino, former executive at the Park Lane hotel in Manhattan and the Excelsior in Rome, as well as three decades with Hospitality Management Inc, starts in the advisory role today, May 7.
Phunware said Ruffino's appointment “marks a significant milestone" for the company as it continues to expand its presence in the hospitality sector.
“With his industry insight, Ruffino will help hotels sell more, entertain better and analyze and optimize their results - all using Phunware’s powerful digital platform," the company said.
CEO Mike Snavely added: “As we continue expanding and innovating our hospitality offerings, we will marry our expertise in mobile consumer engagement with his insights and expertise to create valuable experiences that will increase revenue and improve lifetime value for our hospitality customers."
Ruffino's most recent role before joining Phunware was highlighted as showing his innovative approach to hospitality as he led the development and launch of Hospitality Management's NOLA Hospitality in New Orleans.
