Arizona Gold & Silver encouraged by drilling results from untested area at Philadelphia

Arizona Gold & Silver Inc (TSX-V:AZS) has announced encouraging advancements in its reverse circulation (RC) drilling endeavors at the Philadelphia gold-silver property situated in Mohave County, Arizona.

Drilling is testing a 400-metre strike length of the Resaca patented claim, which has not been previously drilled at Philadelphia, according to a statement from Arizona Gold & Silver.

Greg Hahn, the vice president of exploration, told investors that the area being tested has between five and 20 metres of alluvial cover, bounded to the north by old mine workings and to the south by “extensive exposures of stockwork quartz” on the Rising Fawn claim.

“Prior drilling on the Rising Fawn intersected thick intercepts of gold mineralization below stockwork quartz outcrops,” Hahn said in a statement.

“Current drilling has intersected stockwork quartz in all 18 drill holes completed to date, a positive sign that gold mineralization continues beneath the alluvial cover.”

The ongoing drilling campaign aims to explore the shallow section of the Philadelphia vein system to establish priorities for deeper drilling. The program, which began in early April 2024, has been southerly from the north end of the Resaca claim, positioned immediately south of the historic R1 shaft.

As of now, the company has successfully completed 18 holes spanning approximately 300 metres in strike length.

Quartz stockwork mineralization has been consistently encountered in all drilled holes, with several holes intersecting the hanging wall and foot wall veins, which delineate the upper and lower boundaries of the stockwork zone, the company said.

The thickness of the stockwork zone ranges from 10 to 55 metres, with occasional instances of visible gold panned from selected drill cuttings.

Samples from the initial 14 holes have been dispatched to the ALS sample preparation facility in Tucson, Arizona, where they will undergo analysis for gold via fire assay and silver through 31-element ICP analysis.

The drilling activities are momentarily paused for a scheduled 10-day hiatus, with plans to resume operations in mid-May to conclude the proposed drilling program.
