Deltic Energy PLC (AIM:DELT) has been offered two licences in the North Sea, covering the Blackadder area, with the exploration ground described as containing a mixture of small discoveries and low-risk, infrastructure-led exploration prospects.
The Blackadder acreage is located in a region referred to as the Southern North Sea Gas Basin.
Deltic, which earlier this week flagged the problems it has experienced securing investment for its North Sea discovery, Pensacola, told investors that in light of the current fiscal and political environment it will carefully consider whether accepting further licences in the UK is in the best interest of the business and its shareholders.
"These further Tranche 3 provisional awards further demonstrate the ability of the Deltic team to identify and acquire valuable exploration and appraisal acreage within the UKCS,” chief executive Graham Swindells said in a statement.
“We will now assess each of the provisional awards and carefully consider which, if any, of these awards the company will accept."
