Aclara Resources joins United Nations Global Compact

Aclara Resources Inc (TSX:ARA, OTC:ARAAF) announced its formal inclusion into the United Nations Global Compact, reinforcing its dedication to corporate sustainability and responsible business practices.

The United Nations Global Compact stands as the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, boasting a membership of over 24,000 companies across 160 countries.

Aclara said its decision to join the network reflects its commitment to aligning its operations with the UN's Ten Principles, which encompass human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption measures, while also advancing the objectives of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

"At Aclara, we believe that sustainable development is the path to the future,” said Ramón Barúa, CEO of Aclara.

“Our work ethic, along with the innovation we apply to promote a greener world, and the close collaboration with our communities reflect this commitment. We are a driving force for global decarbonization for building a better world.”

Central to Aclara's sustainability strategy is its ambition to spearhead a green revolution. The company aims to establish a sustainable value chain for the extraction of rare earth minerals, essential for the advancement of electromobility and clean technologies aimed at combatting climate change.

Aclara's patented "Circular Mineral Harvesting" process emphasizes environmental responsibility and transparency, offering several environmental benefits, including reduced carbon footprint and land reclamation efforts.

Aclara's commitment extends beyond its extraction processes to include sustainable water usage and reforestation initiatives, demonstrating a holistic approach to environmental stewardship. These efforts ensure that Aclara's production remains not only traceable but also environmentally responsible, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional rare earth supply chains dominated by China.

The company's focus on sustainability has garnered international recognition, exemplified by its accolades such as the Sustainable Initiative award by the Business Intelligence Group in 2022 and its inclusion among the 50 most sustainable companies in the world at the 2023 SEAL Awards.
