NV Gold Corporation (TSX-V:NVX, OTC:NVGLF) announced new findings from rock chip sampling at its 100%-owned Root Spring gold project in Nevada.
The company reported the discovery of two new samples containing up to 14.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, accompanied by high silver values reaching 5,440 g/t and 1.26% copper.
In a statement, NV Gold said that these findings surpass historical high-grade samples, prompting the company to reconsider the potential of the property for a larger and higher-grade target.
"These recent encouraging samples were collected in one of the limited bedrock exposures on the property,” John Watson, Interim CEO of NV Gold explained.
“They clearly support the strength of a strong precious metals system and encourage additional exploration of the property.”
Situated 28 kilometers east of the Rochester silver-gold operation and 21 kilometers east of NV Gold's Triple T gold project, the Root Spring property spans 26 mining lode claims totaling 520 acres.
Watson added the company is considering the possibility of a “genetic link” to the nearby Triple T project.
The quartz vein system extends for at least 1.2 kilometers along a northwest strike, with individual veins reaching up to 5 meters thick. Historical surface rock-chip gold values in veins reached 9.36 g/t gold, accompanied by high silver reaching 1,500 g/t.
Thomas Klein, NV Gold’s vice president exploration, discussed future exploration plans at the property and surrounding area to test the possibility of a genetic link with other gold-silver occurrences within the region.
“Ongoing work programs will include re-mapping and more detailed rock chip sampling of the property,” Klein said.
