Ocado Group PLC (LSE:OCDO) shares rose as fresh data showed its joint venture with Marks and Spencer Group PLC (LSE:MKS) was again the fastest-growing grocer in the UK this month.
Analysis of the supermarket sector's till rolls for the past 12 weeks showed Ocado Retail improving sales by 12.5%, well ahead of the total online market, which grew by 6.8%.
The joint venture accounted for a 1.9% share of take-home grocery sales, Kantar found, up from 1.7% a year ago.
Ocado Retail's total online share reached 12% for the first time since July 2022.
Market leader Tesco PLC (LSE:TSCO) held its 27.4% share with 5.9% growth in customer spending, the same as J Sainsbury PLC (LSE:SBRY), which has a 15.3% share as sales increased by 6.8%.
Third-placed Asda was the only chain to see till takings fall, down 0.4%, but held its 13.4% market share.
Lidl achieved a record 8.0% share of the market as sales expanded 9.1%, while fellow discounter Aldi battled back to a 10% share, last seen in September, as sales crawled 2.8% higher.
Wm Morrison held its portion of the market at 8.7%, its performance since 2021, as spending was up 3.8%.
Waitrose and Iceland also retained their market share positions at 4.5% and 2.2% as sales grew 3.7% for both.
