HeLIX Exploration PLC (AIM:HEX) told investors it has engaged Treasure State Drilling, with a rig contract for the company’s planned appraisal drill programme in Montana.
Treasure State Drilling will provide its Cardwell KB-150 D1D drilling rig for the programme that’s slated for the third quarter.
The well aims to test and assess the Ingomar Dome project, within the 'Montana Helium Fairway' which the company highlights is known for its substantial helium deposits.
"We are delighted to announce our new partnership with Treasure State Drilling,” chief executive Bo Sears said in a statement.
He added: “I have personally worked with this rig on two prior occasions and can attest to its performance in terms of load capacity, operational efficiency, and the proficiency of its operators.”
“With these essential components in place, Helix is well positioned for the commencement of appraisal drilling at Ingomar Dome in Q3 2024."
Sears told investors that Treasure State and rig manager Will Stenger, alongside the company’s contracted engineers Petroleum Consultants, form a “highly competent team boasting decades of combined experience in helium exploration”.
