Lanthanein Resources Ltd (ASX:LNR, OTC:FRNRF) technical director Brian Thomas joins Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss a significant lithium soil anomaly at its Lady Grey Lithium Project, adjacent to Covalent Lithium's Earl Grey Mine at Mount Holland in WA. Following an extensive soil sampling program that spanned the entire tenement, LNR shares have surged by 66.67%.
The soil survey uncovered a large lithium anomaly extending over a four-kilometre strike, with peak soil concentrations reaching 454 parts per million (ppm) Li2O. This anomaly shows a spatial relationship similar to potential lithium source granite observed at the Godzilla Prospect, enhancing the project's geological prospectivity. Out of 1,893 soil samples collected, 527 exhibited lithium concentrations exceeding 150ppm Li2O.
Additionally, the survey indicated strong correlations between lithium and caesium, suggesting the presence of lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) type pegmatite potential, which is significant for lithium mineralisation. Notably, identified anomalies such as Godzilla and Avenger showed coincident lithium and caesium readings over areas of 4.3 square kilometres and 0.58 square kilometres, respectively.
The survey employed the UltraFine+ analysis method at LabWest Minerals Analysis Pty Ltd, which focuses on ultrafine particles to enhance geochemical signals and improve mineralisation detection under cover.
Thomas expressed optimism about the potential for a significant lithium discovery, citing geological indications of lithium-rich fluid migration towards a prime zone east of the source granite. The southern granite on the tenement's middle western boundary shows lithium anomalism extending to the eastern boundary, including a 2.7-kilometre 'sweet spot' from the source granite, analogous to the Earl Grey mine.
Lanthanein plans to extend and refine the soil surveys and initiate heritage surveys and drilling preparations, aiming to begin drilling these promising targets by mid-year.
