GMG updates investors on commercialization of THERMAL-XR

Graphene Manufacturing Group Ltd (TSX-V:GMG, OTCQX:GMGMF) announced that its proprietary energy-saving coating THERMAL-XR has been recognized at the Data Center World Conference in Washington, DC, USA on April 18, 2024, as part of a broader business update on commercialization of the technology.

The company said its patent-pending THERMAL-XR thermal HVAC coating system, a novel method aimed at addressing corrosion-related issues in heat exchange surfaces, was awarded the Most Disruptive Technology Award and Best Chance for Market Success Award.

Meanwhile, the company said it continues to work with its North American distribution partner and specialty chemicals provider Nu Calgon on end-user customer engagement for THERMAL-XR in the US.

GMG and Nu Calgon are reviewing and progressing the next steps for THERMAL-XR re-submission for USA Environmental Protection Agency approval with a full Pre-Manufacture Notice to import and sell in the country, as was previously announced.

Further, the company said it has received its first order for THERMAL-XR production coating trials from a Chinese air conditioner manufacturer and is in discussions about product testing with other air conditioner manufacturers in both China and the US.

It added that, following this and the success of THERMAL-XR coating project work at Beach Front Hotels, it has focused a sales campaign targeting the sale of THERMAL-XR to Queensland and New South Wales, Australia, coastal hotels and resorts because their air conditioners often fail faster due to more aggressive corrosion from the sea air.

It has also received an order to carry out the remaining two stages of the Australian micro-liquified natural gas (LNG) plant which it supplied and coated THERMAL-XR in 2022.

"The progress GMG is making with THERMAL-XR is exciting,” GMG CEO Craig Nicol said in a statement.

“The various types of industries that are now trialling and in some case ordering the product including after-market air conditioning, data centres, air conditioner manufacturers, truck and train manufacturers and industrial facilities such as LNG plants."

GMG’s full update on its commercialization efforts for THERMAL-XR can be found here.
