Broadgate, the joint venture between British Land Company PLC (LSE:BLND) and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC, has secured a major new leasing agreement with hedge fund firm Citadel for its forthcoming 2 Finsbury Avenue development in London.
Over a third of the building, which spans 750,000 square feet, has been pre-let by Ken Griffin’s global hedge fund giant.
Scheduled for completion in 2027, the 2FA project will be a unique addition to London’s ever-evolving skyline, comprising dual high-rise towers- the 36-storey East Tower and the West Tower at 21-storeys.
Robert McAlpine has been appointed as the main contractor to develop 2FA and 3XN architects are in charge of the design.
“We are excited to move into this spectacular new building at 2 Finsbury Avenue,” said Gerald Beeson, chief operating officer at Citadel. “This unparalleled building will provide the 21st-century workplace experience for the exceptional talent we attract to our firm as we continue to grow our presence in London.”
Simon Carter, chief executive at British Land, added: “2FA is an incredibly exciting scheme that will transform the London skyline with a unique dual tower design.
“It will be delivered into a supply-constrained market in 2027, and this landmark pre-let is further proof of the strong demand for the modern, sustainable office space at our well-connected, amenity-rich London campuses.”
British Land shares were up 2.2% on Thursday.
