Triangle Energy kickstarts new drilling era in North Perth Basin

Triangle Energy kickstarts new drilling era in North Perth Basin

Triangle Energy (Global) Ltd managing director Conrad Todd is with Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson to discuss a drilling milestone with the company gearing up to drill its first well in its two permits in the North Perth Basin targeting highly prospective oil and gas reservoirs. It will also be the first well in the Perth Basin in three decades.

The company has contracted the Ventia 106 rig for the drilling of Booth-1 well in Permit L7, scheduled for late June to July. This marks the beginning of a significant drilling campaign in partnership with Strike Energy Ltd (ASX:STX) and New Zealand Oil and Gas Ltd, each holding a 25% interest in the permits L7 and EP437.

Booth prospect is estimated to hold a Prospective Resource ranging from 113 billion cubic feet (Bcf) to 540 Bcf of gas, with a best estimate of 279 Bcf. The drilling at this prospect will target the Kingia-High Cliff reservoirs, with potential secondary targets in the overlying Dongara and Jurassic sandstones.
