Interactive Brokers Group shares were nudged higher in pre-market trading after the digital broker announced improved first-quarter earnings.
Adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.64 for the first three months of 2024, up from $1.35 in a year-ago.
Net revenues of $1.2 billion were generated on an adjusted basis, an increase from $1.015 billion last time, with a 14% increase in net interest income and 6% increase in commission revenue.
Customer trading volumes were mixed across different types of security, with a 24% jump in options trading volume offsetting a 3% decline in futures and a 16% fall in stock volumes.
Customer accounts increased 25% to 2.75 million, with customer equity increasing 36% to $465.9 billion.
Customer credits were up 9% to $104.9 billion, while customer margin loans increased 30% to $51.2 billion.
