Faron’s active strategy under new CEO welcomed by broker Peel Hunt

Peel Hunt analysts have provided a short update on Faron Pharmaceuticals Limited (AIM:FARN) after the AIM-listed company announced plans to meet with the US Food & Drug Administration earlier than planned in the hope of fast-tracking its lead drug bexmarilimab.

Faron’s incoming chief executive Juho Jalkanen has cited this as a key priority.

“There are no financial comments attached to these strategic plans, but we welcome any activities that prioritise and focus on bringing this promising asset to market while leveraging data already generated,” said analysts

Faron’s lead asset, bexmarilimab, is a monoclonal antibody therapy targeting myeloid cells (macrophages), binding to the immunosuppressive receptor Clever-1.

It has shown decent safety data whilst demonstrating that it can ‘ignite immunity’ in cancer patients, Peel Hunt explained.

This allows a patient’s own immune system to overcome resistance from the tumour microenvironment.

Analysts avoided making a forecast as the firm is under a review period of the stock, “but we continue to view bexmarilimab as an exciting asset in the oncology landscape”.
