Abitibi Metals hails second drill results from B26, supporting bulk tonnage open pit potential

Abitibi Metals Corp (CSE:AMQ, OTC:AMQFF) shared the results from the second batch of holes drilled at B26 Polymetallic Deposit in southwestern Quebec, including 97.5 metres at 1.47 copper near surface in hole #301.

The results, which are a part of the first phase of a 30,000-metre drill campaign for the 2024 field season, also showed hole #301 included a higher-grade section of 3.9% copper equivalent (CuEq) over 21.8 metres.

Results from #301 support the bulk tonnage open pit potential with a high-grade core and tested the true width of the mineralization, the company said.

CEO Jonathon Deluce hailed the results from #301 as "excellent" and said the hole "expands the mineralized zone and is in line with our objective of better defining the high-grade core while assessing for near-surface bulk tonnage potential."

He also highlighted holes #297 and #299 as successfully extending the system up-dip, extending the mineralization closer to the bedrock surface.

Results from hole #297 showed 0.70% CuEq over 32.5 metres beginning at 52.3 metres along hole, while at #299 there was 1.04% CuEq over 10.4 metres beginning at 33 metres along hole.

The drilling campaign, managed by Explo-Logik with core processing done at AGAT Laboratories, is fully funded under an option agreement to earn an 80% stake in the deposit from SOQUEM over seven years.
