Standard Uranium provides exploration update for Sun Dog uranium project

Standard Uranium Ltd (TSX-V:STND, OTCQB:STTDF) has provided an update on exploration activities by optionee Aero Energy at the Sun Dog uranium project in the Northwestern Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan.

It said an airborne Versatile Time-Domain Electromagnetic (VTEM) survey has commenced to detect structural corridors of electrically conductive graphite-rich rocks, favoured targets for large basement-hosted uranium deposits.

It will cover the entire Sun Dog project and consist of 3,350 kilometers of flight lines in a grid pattern with 100-meter spacing between each flight line, allowing for existing drill targets to be prioritized and the generation of additional drill targets.

Additionally, Team Drilling has been engaged as the drilling contractor for the planned spring/summer drill program which will be focused on the most promising of dozens of shallow targets identified in collaboration with Aero’s joint technical committee.

The company noted that the fully-funded summer drill plans include helicopter-supported diamond drilling across the project, focused on high-priority targets refined by the current geophysical work.

The specific details on targets and the number of drill holes will be announced in the coming weeks once they are finalized.

“The Aero technical team and I are thrilled to provide these updates to the market as we quickly move towards kicking off our ambitious 2024 exploration season,” Standard Uranium president and VP exploration Sean Hillacre commented.

“We eagerly anticipate receiving the new EM data and will be putting it to work immediately as we refine our high-priority drill targets for this summer. Securing reliable and leading contractors to complete the work is a great step forward as we look to unlock the potential in the Uranium City district with modern exploration techniques.”

Aero Energy can acquire 100% of the 19,604-hectare Sun Dog project by completing three years of exploration programs and a series of cash and equity payments to Standard Uranium.

Standard Uranium has completed four joint venture earn-in partnerships on the Sun Dog, Canary, Atlantic and Ascent projects totaling over $31 million in work commitments from 2024 to 2026.
