Aurumin completes first-pass drilling on new Central Sandstone gold targets

Aurumin Ltd (ASX:AUN) has completed reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its 100%-owned, 881,000-ounce Central Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia, with 38 holes and 3,888 metres drilled.

The project, 520 kilometres northeast of Perth, is part of the company’s Sandstone Operations, which also includes the Birrigrin and Johnson Range projects, and has a total resource of 946,000 ounces.

"Generating critical mass"

Aurumin managing director Brad Valiukas said: “Drilling has been efficient and completed ahead of schedule. Priority and composite samples will be sent to the lab this week and we look forward to results being returned and then following up with the next round of drilling.

“We are investing into our flagship 946,000-ounce Sandstone Gold Operations and this work aligns directly with our focus on generating the critical mass required for future production, starting with open pits.”

Targets at Sandstone (current drill targets in red).

The drilling targeted multiple depositional models and styles including porphyry/intrusive hosted vein style, banded iron hosted and structural shear style hosted mineralisation in mafic and ultramafic units.

Seven new open pit targets were tested with first-pass exploration drilling with another five holes testing extensions at two existing open pit resources.

Aurumin notes that all targets are on the mining leases, within 3 kilometres of the processing plant footprint.

The samples are now being prepared for transport to the laboratory. Subject to results, the company intends to fast-track follow-up drilling.
