Global Energy Metals unveils summer exploration strategy for Monument Peak copper-silver-gold project

Global Energy Metals Corp (TSX-V:GEMC) has outlined its summer 2024 exploration strategy for the Monument Peak copper-silver-gold project located in Idaho.

The company said a reinterpretation of both historical and more recent data from the project area, such as fieldwork carried out by Dahrouge Geological Consulting (DCG), has resulted in the proposal of a new geological model which Global Energy Metals believes warrants further investigation.

It said its spring and summer exploration program has been designed to refine its exploration targets and further evaluate the economic potential of the mineral zones that have been identified.

It will include comprehensive surface mapping and the collection of additional rock samples guided by the insights gained from the previous reconnaissance.

Noting the similarities in terms of the style and age of copper and silver mineralization between the Monument Peak area and the Western Montana Copper Belt, Global Energy Metals said it intends to first confirm the grades, thickness and style of mineralization at Monument Peak before conducting drill testing.

The Monument Peak project consists of 84 claims covering approximately 691 hectares and includes two small past-producing copper mines, Jackson and Hungry Hill.

Rock samples collected during DGC’s field program ranged up to 5.61% copper, 175 grams per ton of silver, and 17.6 grams per ton of gold.

“This is a very compelling project in Idaho, an extremely sought-after jurisdiction for mining in general but also for copper, silver and gold, all of which are dominant in the mineralization identified at site,” Global Energy Metals CEO Mitchell Smith said in a statement.

“With this exploration plan in hand we, in collaboration with Dahrouge Geological are now assessing various options, including potential strategic partnerships, to conduct the work necessary to unlock Monument Peak’s full potential.”

Global Energy Metals has a diversified portfolio of exploration and growth-stage battery mineral assets, offering investors exposure to the growing rechargeable battery and electric vehicle market.
