Arizona Gold & Silver set to start drilling at Philadelphia gold-silver property

Arizona Gold & Silver Inc (TSX-V:AZS) said that equipment has arrived onsite for an upcoming reverse circulation (RC) drill program at the Philadelphia gold and silver property, located in Mohave County, Arizona.

The planned program will focus on the Resaca claim, specifically targeting areas with historical high-grade mine workings.

Arizona’s objective is to conduct drill testing of the shallow portion of the vein system and establish priorities for drilling down dip.

“This round of drilling will test the entire 400 metre strike length of the Resaca patented claim, a segment of the vein system that has never been drilled before,” Arizona vice president Greg Hahn told investors in a statement.

The RC drilling will commence on the north end of the Resaca claim, adjacent to the historic R1 shaft, before progressing southward.

There is reported high grade in a historic vein intercept at the south end of the area to be drilled, on the adjacent Rising Fawn claim, Hahn added.

Historical channel samples from 1930 along the R1 shaft, extending down to the water table at the 100-level, revealed significant gold grades, with 21.34 metres averaging 8.33 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

Similarly, recent company channel sampling at surface has traced the footwall vein, returning promising grades, including a 3-metre interval grading 11.6 g/t gold and 658 g/t silver.
