Kingston Resources hits high-grade polymetallic mineralisation; Southern Ore Zone extends 400 metres

Updated drilling and assay information from recent resource definition drilling by Kingston Resources Ltd (ASX:KSN) at the Mineral Hill underground mine in central NSW has confirmed a strike length of at least 400 metres at the Southern Ore Zone.

The drilling was designed as infill in areas of potential early production and extension to the northwest and has returned polymetallic mineralisation up to 5.03 g/t gold, 295 g/t silver, 6.45% copper, 29.7% lead and 34.71% zinc.

Kingston advises that the high-grade polymetallic mineralisation in A Lode is now known to extend for 400 metres in strike length and remains open to the northwest and southeast.

“Outstanding results”

Kingston Resources chief geologist Stuart Hayward said: “These are outstanding results, clearly illustrating the high-grade nature of the deposit and the region’s metal endowment.

"The mineralisation within the 'A Lode' in the Southern Ore Zone (SOZ) is continuous over a 400-metre strike length, with mineralisation remaining open to the northwest and southeast.

“This highly successful drilling campaign has not only increased our confidence in the geological continuity but also identified new zones of mineralisation (new lode) in the footwall of SOZ and enhanced our understanding of the controls of the orebody.

"We’ve already pinpointed additional target areas to expand SOZ with further drilling.”

Currently, the Southern Ore Zone (SOZ) underground mineral resource, stands at 3.8 million tonnes and this round of drilling has increased the understanding of and confidence in the controls of the orebody, which will aid in future exploration and resource expansion activities.

Significant intersections include:

  • 6.7 metres at 1.23% copper equivalent (CuEq) from 163.3 metres, including 4.1 metres at 1.74%;
  • 9 metres at 3.14% CuEq from 214 metres, including 3 metres at 8.13%;
  • 4 metres at 2.38% CuEq from 228 metres;
  • 30.7 metres at 1.10% CuEq from 175.3 metres, including 3 metres at 4.67;
  • 7 metres at 3.76% CuEq from 164 metres, including 3 metres at 6.18%; and
  • 36 metres at 1.69% CuEq from 173 metres, including 8 metres at 2.06% and 10.2 metres at 2.73%.

Drill holes KSNDDH020, 21, 22 and 23 were drilled to infill the upper areas of the underground resources. Mineral Hill has existing underground development in place, which allows for a rapid restart of underground mining.

The company released an underground production target in June 2023, which outlined a life of mine out to 2027. Access to the deeper parts of the underground mine has been reestablished and the development has been fully rehabilitated by pumping out water and installing ground support.

Follow-up drilling on these results will commence later this year from underground drill platforms.
