Tesco, BP and tobacco firm Imperial Brands will offer up reports in what is otherwise a week set to be dominated by macroeconomic news.
FTSE 250-listed Ferrexpo will lead the way with a production report on Monday, an update that risks being overshadowed by threats of Ukraine seizing bank accounts held by the Swiss commodity trader’s subsidiary.
BP and Imperial follow suit with updates on Tuesday, though these could be mixed as the former looks to echo Shell’s solid start to the year, while the tobacco-cum-vape firm grapples with mounting regulatory pressure.
Strong business as usual is the expectation for Tesco in Wednesday’s full-year results, as analysts look for further market share gain despite inflationary pressure and competition from discounters.
Wednesday will also give investors key macroeconomic data to mull over, as US inflation figures for March are due.
Given optimism around interest rate cuts this year, markets will be hoping for no more inflationary shocks, though growing fuel prices could pose a threat.
