Tajiri Resources (TSX-V:TAJ) has announced a significant move towards expanding its mineral property portfolio with an exclusive negotiation agreement for the acquisition of the Yono property in Guyana.
The agreement, spanning three months, grants Tajiri exclusive rights to negotiate terms for acquiring up to a 100% interest in the property.
Yono is situated centrally within and surrounded by the Oko and Oko West Projects of G2 Goldfields and Reunion Gold- the sites of new gold discoveries.
Key features of Yono, as outlined in NI 43-101 reports, include its close proximity to existing gold resources within the Oko and Oko West Projects, as well as evidence of artisanal alluvial and colluvial workings within the property boundaries.
Additionally, preliminary reconnaissance samples from Yono have shown visible gold, indicating the property's potential for gold mineralization, Tajiri told shareholders.
The company added that its geological setting suggests favorable conditions for hosting fold-controlled gold mineralization, similar to those found in neighboring projects.
Under the terms of the agreement, Tajiri's subsidiary, Protean Mining Inc, has secured a three-month exclusivity period to negotiate the acquisition terms with the vendor, a Guyana registered company.
Tajiri will have the option to undertake due diligence sampling and other investigations during this period.
“The Yono property, though early stage with has a great address central to a rapidly expanding 7.9 million ounce gold district,” the company said in a statement.
“We look forward to the arms-length directors of the company negotiating an acquisition of Yono with the Vendor for the benefit of all our shareholders.”
