London Underground strikes set to take place on Monday, April 8 and Saturday, May 4 have been called off, union Aslef has confirmed.
After a series of meetings between Transport for London and the union, negotiators are said to have resolved the key issues driving the dispute.
A union representative said: “Management has confirmed that they have disbanded their ‘Trains Modernisation’ team and will not be implementing their plans to change drivers’ working arrangements without agreement.
“They have also agreed to reinstate annual refresher training stopped during the pandemic.”
Last month, Finn Brennan, the union's organiser for the London Tube, said employers had failed to provide assurances about changes to conditions and terms.
"They want drivers to work longer shifts, spending up to 25% more time in the cab, and to remove all current working agreements in the name of flexibility and efficiency.
"Everyone knows what these management buzz words really mean. It’s about getting people to work harder and longer for less."
Tube workers went on strike over the same issue a year ago.
