Sidus Space Inc (NASDAQ:SIDU) announced that it will be offering its Mission Control Center (MCC) to commercial customers, adding a new revenue stream within its Space-Based Data Solutions business unit.
The multifaceted Space and Data-as-a-Service satellite company said its MCC presents a unique service offering to monitor and support spacecraft missions for the lifecycle of a spacecraft from launch to mission completion.
It said the MCC is scalable from one spacecraft to a full constellation, making it an attractive option for satellite customers without their own mission control capabilities.
Sidus’ MCC Team has 100% uptime, working 24/7 to monitor every aspect of a mission, from the health and status of the satellite or spacecraft while in orbit, to performing operational tests throughout the mission lifecycle.
It monitors propulsion, temperature, onboard computers, and payload status. It also can identify potential risks to help ensure mission success., the company highlighted.
Further, the MCC establishes and maintains bidirectional communication with spacecraft through its network of ground stations to support the transmission of data and images while on orbit back to Earth.
“We are excited to offer this capability to commercial customers to provide a much-needed service to the Space ecosystem,” Sidus CEO Carol Craig said in a statement.
“This specialized service adds another revenue stream to our heritage-based space capabilities which will result in added value for our shareholders.”
Cape Canaveral, Florida-based Sidus offers its products and services through four business units: Space and Defense Hardware Manufacturing, Satellite Manufacturing and Payload Integration, Space-Based Data Solutions, and AI/ML Products and Services.
Its offering includes mission-critical hardware manufacturing; multi-disciplinary engineering services; satellite design, production, launch planning, mission operations; and in-orbit support.
