Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK, OTC:RDFEF) has started drilling the intermediate section of Maroons Well in the Anadarko Basin of Oklahoma, the second in the multi-well Flames-Maroons Development Plan (FMDP), which the company describes as a “transformational program”.
This drilling follows the casing and cementing of the lateral section of Iginla, the first FMDP well in the core of the basin’s southern SCOOP Play, with Kenai Drilling’s Kenai 19 rig then walked to the nearby Maroons Well.
The company is now drilling ahead at Maroons with the well already at a depth of around 6,800 feet after the surface hole section had been drilled previously.

Efficient drilling
With efficient pad drilling practices in mind, the surface holes of Iginla, Maroons and the next planned well, Fleury, were drilled during February as these wells are being drilled from the same pad, Sanford.
This allows for the rig to be walked from drill centre to drill centre allowing for very efficient continuous drilling rather than requiring a costly and time-consuming full rig-down/rig-up.
The Maroons Well is targeting the Sycamore Formation, which sits immediately above the Woodford Formation.

About the FMDP
The FMDP is targeting the highly productive Sycamore and Woodford formations in the SCOOP area of the southern Anadarko Basin.
Of the four wells in the multi-well drilling program, three are being drilled from the Sanford Pad - the Fleury, Maroons and Iginla Wells.
Once these wells have been drilled and cased the drill rig will move to the Flames Well pad and drill the fourth well, the Rocket Well.
