First Phosphate Corp. (CSE:PHOS) has released the second batch of assay results from its ongoing 25,000 metre drill program at the Bégin-Lamarche project in Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, Quebec.
One hole intercepted two metres of massive apatite, while other drill holes in the zone continued to produce core results of more than 30% apatite.
Apatite, commonly found in igneous and metamorphic rocks, serves as the primary phosphate mineral form. It was recently added to Quebec's Critical and Strategic Minerals List.
Other notable intersections include 15.01% P2O5 (phosphate) over 7.65 metres from a depth of 36.9 metres, including one assay of 31.24% P2O5 over 1.1 metres.
In the northern zone, a drill hole showed 6.83% P2O5 over 108.0 metres starting at a depth of 234 metres, while another exhibited 7.48% P2O5 over 90.6 metres starting at 192.4 metres.
And in the southern zone, drilling intersected 5.41% P2O5 over 258 metres from a depth of 111 metres. Additionally, it confirmed higher-grade phosphate at depth with two intersections returning 7.65% P2O5 over 24 metres and 8.06% P2O5 over 25 metres.
With a total of 16,435 metres of drilling completed to date, assays have been returned for 5,642 metres since the program's commencement in February 2024.
"Drilling at the Phosphate Mountain Zone continues to deliver phosphate strong mineralization," said First Phosphate CEO, John Passalacqua, who noted that the Mountain and Northern Zones show high-grade phosphate on surface while the Southern Zone shows large tonnage potential over a strike length of 1.5 kilometres.
