Strickland Metals Ltd (ASX:STK) is gearing up for a new drilling program at the Yandal Gold Project in Western Australia, where the company has started clearing drill pads in preparation for the rigs to begin work.
The first rig is expected to arrive on site next week, with a second diamond drilling rig to arrive the following week.
The company intends to test large-scale gold targets at a number of Horse Well prospects, as well as follow-up reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling at the Great Western prospects.
“Exciting” pipeline of gold targets
“We have been particularly excited for programs to recommence at our Yandal Gold Project, given the large number of targets defined out of last year’s exploration efforts that require follow-up drilling,” Strickland Metals CEO Andrew Bray said.
“Specifically, drilling is planned to commence at the Palomino-Clydesdale trend; the Bronco-Konik trend; the Warmblood-Filly trend; Marwari; and a number of other earlier stage targets.
“Given the pace we conducted our exploration programs towards the end of 2023 (particularly trying to incorporate as much drilling as possible before the Christmas break), there remains a lot of promising follow-up work to be undertaken.
“This also includes continuing work at Rabbit Well, which was unfortunately halted due to recent inclement weather conditions.
“Now that the site has dried out after heavy rains during March, pad clearing has now commenced.
“We are currently finalising drilling plans for the coming months, and expect to release details of the upcoming drilling programs very shortly.
“Given the schedule of work and the high-quality nature of the targets we are drilling, it promises to be a very exciting 2024 for Strickland’s numerous drilling campaigns. Further updates will be provided shortly.”
Strickland says it remains well funded to advance its exploration ambitions at Yandal, with cash and Northern Star Resources shares totalling about $54 million in hand at the end of the previous quarter.
