Pacific Empire Minerals Corporation (TSX-V:PEMC, OTCQB:PEMSF) announced that it has completed an airborne MobileMT (MagnetoTelluric) survey at its Trident and Pinnacle copper-gold projects in British Columbia.
The explorer said the completed survey totalled 164 line-kilometers and covered key targets on both the Trident and Pinnacle properties.
The geophysical dataset obtained from the survey will be used to identify and prioritize target areas for a drill program in the summer/fall 2024 exploration season.
Preliminary results from the surveys are expected in the coming days, Pacific Empire CEO Brad Peters said.
"This will be followed by a series of digital data sets which will be followed up with complex data analysis and targeting by our technical team and the team at Expert Geophysics,” Peters said.
He highlighted that copper-bearing porphyry systems are an ideal target for MobileMT surveys, which can detect basement electromagnetic conductors and anomalous resistivity zones indicating the potential of this type of system.
“Fault contacts and fault-associated conductive zones, highly resistive wedges of mineralizing intrusions and potassic alteration zones are very well identified and defined using the MobileMT exploration technique with great spatial, depth and resistivity resolution,” the CEO said.
“We look forward to being able to see to depths of over one kilometre beneath the surface at our 100% owned Trident and Pinnacle projects, west of Centerra Gold's operating Mount Milligan copper-gold mine. Our objective is to identify potential ‘plumbing systems,’ because if you are looking for large copper deposits you need a large plumbing system."
Pacific Empire’s Trident property is an exploration stage property hosting an alkalic porphyry copper-gold-silver prospect. The Pinnacle property is located adjacent to Trident.
